Portico (single version)

by Heavy Stars

/

about

Spoken word, vibes, vinyl crackle, and sine waves. Poem based on 'Beginning' from Karen Hesse's novel through poetry 'Out of the Dust.'

lyrics

She was born
Came out second
Calm and cool like water,
Letting everything roll off her back
Except for the world itself
When she entered the world,
She offered it her shoulder
There it would stay
For a while
She carried the world and it's worries with her wherever she went
It became her closest friend
Even though she didn't exactly fit in
She was the world's place
But the world was not hers
